I’m very excited about the upcoming release of The Scarehouse (D Films/NBC Universal), which is slated to hit theaters on October 21st in US and Canada.  I recently finished the score, which was the work of many weeks spent locked in my darkened studio while the sun shone outside.  The result is an 80’s and classic horror film inspired mix of synths, orchestral music, and creepy atmospheres.  Much of the sound elements I recorded on the set last year made it into the score, along with some chilling recordings of a prepared piano.  The strings for the closing piece were recorded in Prague with the Filmharmonic Orchestra (here’s a live clip of one of the session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIKAYkHnoqQ).  Check out the film’s Soundcloud page to hear the tracks, which will be released as part of the official soundtrack in the near future.
