We’re winding down another year, and looking back, it’s been a tremendous one for my colleagues and myself! I had a wonderful time involved with many different stripes of creative work, with many wonderful collaborators. I attended a bunch of festivals including WSFF, Reel World, Hot Docs, and TIFF, and saw many splendid films. I even got the chance to hang out with the one and only Peaches for my panel on music and film for TIFF. Definitely a highlight! Here’s a brief run-down of some cool things that have been happening:
Out With Dad
The series has now broken 10.5 million views! It continued it’s habit of being all award-winning and stuff, and racked up the noms and awards, including 6 wins at the LA Webseries Festival, topping it off by winning the Prix Coup de Coeur de France 4 at the Marseille International Web Fest, which included a distribution deal through France 4.
Ghosts With Shit Jobs
This indie feature has done really well on the international circuit playing at multiple festivals around the globe (including Germany, Poland, Korea, and India) and won an award (see above)!
“Ingenious… a gripping movie” – Corey Doctorow
“Brilliant… will leave you emotionally shaken, your brain teeming with weird new ideas…” – io9
“…outstanding…” – Boing Boing
“…sheer delight…” –The Guardian
GWSJ will be available on iTunes/PS/Xbox in December!
For God and Ulster
Congrats to Greg Breen and the crew for their Best Drama win at the Canada International Film Festival! I’m looking forward to getting started on a new short for Greg in the new year.
